The lengths at which senators and congress man and even presidents will go to get elected and stay in office is a sad testimony of the shortcomings of our political system. The saddest part of this commentary is that there is a simple solution for our governmental woes . Term limits would take the impetus out of the power hungry and put the power back in the hand of the people . Dissolving power bases and rebuilding politics from the ground up is what made America strong and prosperous.The republicans and the democrats have abandoned the people in an effort to seize power and hold power . How many senators have been in office for more than twenty years how many ten term congressman are there? The answer is simple, too many.
